Sugaring FAQs

sugaring san diego

What is Sugaring?

Sugaring hair removal, is an ancient Egyptian practice. A ball of Sugar paste is used to remove the hair from the root. The paste is room temperature and it warms up to your body, sticking to the hair, not the skin. This technique causes less redness, pain, and inflammation, which is also safe for sensitive skin. Sugaring gently exfoliates leaving smooth, longer, lasting results.

Why Sugaring?

  • Sugaring paste is applied at body temperature, it will never burn your skin
  • 100% NATURAL, just sugar, water, and lemon juice!
  • Only adheres to the hair and dead skin cells
  • Hair is removed in the same direction as hair growth, causing less trauma to the skin
  • Hair regrowth is smoother, finer, softer
  • Sugaring is sanitary, hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic (doesn't clog the pores)

  • Avoid exercising or hot tubs the first 24 hours or any frictigarin
  • Book your next appointment within 3-5 weeks for best results

Additional Information

Does it hurt?

For most Sugaring is less painful than regular waxing. Stress, hormones can affect pain tolerance. If it is the first time you are being sugared or you are not consistent there is some pain involved as the hair follicle is larger than the pore it is coming out of, but I strive to ensure your comfort throughout the entire process. As you continue to Sugar, it will be easier.

Will you be completely smooth?

I will always do our best to leave you smooth. It may take 3 to 6 times to be completely smooth because of different hair growth cycles.  You may have tiny hairs left behind or see some growth within a few days. As you continue to Sugar results will last longer & hair will be finer.

Contraindication

If you are currently using any of the following medication you cannot receive a waxing service. (Accutane, Retinol, Azelex, Renova, Doxycycline, Differin). Please disclose medication you are taking so we may determine if it's safe to perform the service.

Can you Sugar while in your menstrual period?

Yes. You will need to follow proper hygiene and have a tampon on. Bring an extra one to change after your sugaring appointment.

New to Hair Removal?

Highly recommend you start with a service you can see to compare results. Doing a Bikini service before a Brazilian / Manzilian is a great way to get started. Underarms Sugaring will allow you to feel, see and experience Sugaring benefits.
